The Attappady hill station is home to many very old tribes and is a source of delight to anthropologists. The hilly terrain of this region is fed by the tributaries of the River Cauvery. Attappady Palghat is a beautiful synthesis of rivers, mountains as also forests. The Malleshwaram Peak in this area is worshipped by the tribals and other local people as a giant Shivalinga.
